Nurseries!

So, I've been researching designs for nurseries and Dan and I can't decide. Please help! I've set up a poll on the right hand side. Please vote for your favorites and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

It's A...

...boy! We are having a boy! Aiden Daniel will be here around February 11th! Take a look at our beautiful baby!

He is growing very well (the sonographer called him a bit chubby!), but he was a little stubborn. He wouldn't move very much so we could get a better picture of him. Stubborn as a mule, just like his father! :)

Everything is going very well. He started kicking last week and barely has stopped! The doctor says he is very strong and healthy. And his momma is doing well too - I've only gained 2.5 pounds! Feeling good generally, just tired.

I will update you as the updates come! I hope to decide on a nursery theme this month.

New Sono Picture

Dr. Collins looked at my last sonogram and wanted me to get an updated one two weeks later, just to confirm the changed due date. We went in yesterday, and sure enough, it's gonna be February 11th. I don't have a normal 28 day cycle (mine is closer to 36 day), so that makes sense why I'm two weeks behind what they originally thought. Like I said, I'm totally cool with that! I've had so many friends and family tell me that their birthday is in February, so I know our baby will not be alone in having a February birthday!

Here is the sonogram at 9ish weeks:

I've labeled what the sonographer told us - baby is upside down with the back at the top. We got to see the heart beat!! It was so cool. Just surreal. Heartbeat is good and strong still.

Nausea has gone away for the most part (yay!) but now I'm super tired and drowsy. The mornings are tough, especially at work. I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. But the smell of greasy food still makes me nauseous. Boo. I try an take a cat nap at lunch, and then a take at least an hour nap after work. And I STILL sleep about 9 hours a night.

We go back to the doctor tomorrow and meet with Dr. Collins for the first time. I will definitely give you an update on how that goes!

My Little Ducky

I got a call from the doctor's office yesterday asking if I could come in a day early to do the sonogram. Of course I said yes! Take a look at this:

(Click on picture for a bigger version)

It looks a bit like a rubber ducky. :) The top is the head, the little black dot is the brain and it's laying on its back at the moment. Or at least that is what the tech told us. As we were walking back to the car, Dan said, "To be honest, I have no idea what I'm looking at." I replied, "I don't think anyone really does."

The coolest part was hearing the heartbeat. 150 beats per minutes - she said that it was very strong. I nearly cried. That right there was the biggest confirmation that I have a little person inside me. So strange to think about that, but wow. Just....wow. God is good.

Another piece of news? Baby looks like 7 weeks, not 9 weeks (how she could tell, I'll never know. And I don't think I want to know...). Now we aren't due until February 11th! Yay!!! I really wanted a February baby, and now I might have a Valentine's Day baby! Ideas for the nursery?? Maybe my Classic Winnie the Pooh may be altered....

So to answer a few of the comments from last week: My OB is Dr. Rebecca Collins, North Texas OBGYN. I meet with her on the 14th. No, I will not be doing an at home birth. Gross. Hospital all the way. Just in case there are complications, I'd rather already be in the hospital instead of a few miles away. I don't like doctors, but I do trust them. Aaaand, gross.
